Reviews - Nintendo - Donkey Kong

Here it is, the legendary Donkey Kong, in which “the jumping man” aka Jumper aka Super Mario made his debut. So, let `s get on with what you are here for, THE REVIEW! Foremost (I like big words!) audio, I had to skip to audio because that is a really the greatest bug of this game. You know that sound that brand new leather shoes make on a wooden floor? You know, that annoying screechy sound, now imagine this, every, but EVERY time you move Mario, he makes that sound, almost like Shigaro ( The maker of Super Mario, and I hope Donkey Kong.) fought that if Marios shoes screech all the time the game will be more realistic (Like I said, I like big words.) And the audio background , well there is none, but that is okay fro a NES game (and this one is what, the SECOND NES game ever!) So let’s face it, audio sucks, all you get in audio is a couple of good FX , and a screechy shoe sound. Next, let’s move on to graphics, although there really isn’t much to say, a fairly good graphical experience with about 9 sprites of animation for the main characters ( Mario, Donkey Kong, Princess). Gameplay, here we come! So, this part is a real trouble for me, because I like this game, but I also dislike it’s gameplay . Let me tell you about what happened while I was playing this game. So, I am jumping, dodging and hammering, when all of asudden I fall down ( I wasn’t jumping) from about 2 tenths of an inch (1.2 centimeters) and It was GAME OVER for me. So that means, if you fall, and you aren’t jumping you die. Although the best part (for me) is how hard this game is, I mean, I passed Broken Sword faster then this( yeah, right!).

[See that, in 1981 they made good games]

[The princess is free to move, but she is (apparently) too lazy.]

And here are the Final Numbers (scale 1-10):

Graphics: 9
Pretty, just not pretty enough, and there is some animation shortage.
Sound: 3
All the sound in this game include FX( bad and screechy FX), intro and GAME OVER music.
Gameplay: 8
(If you hate hard games feel free to take 2 points of the grade.)
Just hard enough, but a man falls sometimes, they CAN NOT prevent that.
Altogether kind of a game: 9
The perfect game to relax your brain (and muscles) after a hard days work.
Plus, this is the first role of the legendary Super Mario.
