History of Raine

The emulator began life when a programmer named Antiriad started an emulator for a single arcade game, Rainbow Islands by Taito. The emulator, originally named Rainbow Islands Emulator, received a new contracted form of it's name (Rainbow Islands Emulator) when the emulator began supporting other arcade games. On September 5, 2004, the Raine team added in support for the EmuDX enhanced content packs thanks to support from the author of EmuDX, Mike Green.
